The Grand Canyon Skywalk extends 65 feet (20 meters) over the edge of the Grand Canyon’s West Rim. Located at Eagle Point on the Hualapai Indian tribal lands, the Skywalk soars 4000 feet (1200 meters) above the canyon floor. This engineering marvel provides the vistor with a genuine bird’s-eye view of the Grand Canyon.
The glass floor is designed to support the weight of nearly 800 people, 100 mph winds, and major earthquakes. Visitors are given shoe covers to prevent the highly polished glass floor from being scratched.
