Working at Incredible Adventures has been incredibly fun and rewarding. Getting to guide people through national parks, monuments, and beautiful landmarks is an exciting opportunity, and sharing these experiences with others is truly special. There’s always something new to discover, and seeing these places through our guests’ eyes for the first time reminds me to never take them for granted.
Yosemite Through the Seasons
One of my favorite parts of the job is definitely the time I get to spend in Yosemite National Park. I’ve been lucky enough to see it in all its glory: the roaring waterfalls of spring, the cool, refreshing river in the heat of summer, and the valley floor transformed into a winter wonderland by snow. Each season reveals a different side of the park, and no matter the time of year, Yosemite always manages to surprise me.
An Unforgettable Encounter and the Magic of the Unexpected
One particular day stands out: a random Thursday afternoon that started like any other. I was driving a group through the Valley when I spotted something emerging from between the pine trees—a very fuzzy black bear, just casually going about its business. I pointed it out to the group, and at first, they didn’t quite believe me. It took a moment for everyone to spot it, but once they did, a collective gasp filled the air. Phones came out, jaws dropped, and for a few silent minutes, we just watched. No big fanfare, just us, the bear, and the incredible beauty of Yosemite.
That’s what this job is all about. You never truly know what each day will bring. Every group is unique, every trip holds an unexpected moment, and there’s always a new story waiting to be told. The people, the places, and those small, in-between moments are what make it all so worthwhile.
I’ve had many amazing days working at Incredible Adventures, but that bear sighting in Yosemite is definitely one I’ll cherish forever. It was truly unforgettable!
