Plan Your Transportation to Yosemite National Park

Before embarking on your journey to Yosemite National Park, it’s essential to plan your transportation carefully. If you’re traveling from afar, consider flying into San Francisco, Sacramento, or Fresno and traveling by bus from there.

If you’re visiting from elsewhere in the United States, you can find various public transportation options to reach the park. There are bus services that run to Yosemite Valley (and other areas of the park in summer) from California and the wider country.

Amtrak offers a combination of bus and train services to get to the park, so if you want to try something different, consider this option to tick off two transportation options. You may even find some stops along the way to explore, depending on where you’re heading from!

Other options include the tried and true Greyhound bus to Yosemite Valley and the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (known as YARTS). The latter has four major routes into Yosemite, depending on your California location. Check out the YARTS schedule for more info.
