Luggage
Because of our small-size vehicles, we have limited luggage space. Each passenger may bring one overnight bag. The under-seat storage space will accept ~13.5″x12″x11″ if the item is hard-sided; slightly larger if it is soft-sided. If you have larger luggage, most hotels in San Francisco will store your larger luggage after check-out or before check-in (some charge a fee for this service).
This is the best way to ensure that you get guaranteed accommodations in the park – plus you can explore at your own pace AND stay as many days as you want in the park!
Please note: This is a sample itinerary: Due to rapidly changing conditions (weather, crowds, traffic, etc) in Yosemite Park and the small size of our vehicles/groups, our guides have the flexibility to tailor your itinerary to best suit the needs of the group. While we guarantee that we’ll do our best to provide you with all of the highlights within this itinerary (conditions permitting), we do not guarantee them in this specific order.
From May through mid-November, the Day 1 itinerary features a stop at the Giant Sequoia groves. This visit is subject to change based on road accessibility and weather conditions. If road conditions (such as snow or ice) force the National Park Service to close these routes, we will not be able to visit these specific locations. In these events, we will adjust our itinerary to ensure you still have a full and memorable Yosemite experience.
Important Lodging Note: If you select Yosemite View Lodge or Yosemite Cedar Lodge for your accommodation, please be aware that the primary tour transportation does not service these locations directly. Guests must utilize the convenient YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System) bus service to travel between their hotel and the main meeting points within Yosemite Valley.
6:00 – 11:30am: As we embark on our journey, we’ll pass by some exceptional San Francisco sights. Catch views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz Island and the incomparable San Francisco Skyline as we head east on the Bay Bridge. You’ll taste a piece of California’s rich agricultural hub as we pass through a slice of the Central Valley famous for specialty fruits and nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cherries, and strawberries.
11:00am – 12:30pm: We’ll continue into the mountains as we connect with the rich history of California’s gold country, passing through some of the first settlements built during the Gold Rush. Take in the earthy forest smell as we make our way to the heart of the park. Your guide will pepper in stories and historical facts about the different sights. With an intimate group, there’s plenty of time to stop along the way to take pictures with the beautiful panoramas.
12:30pm: We made it! We’ll arrive in the early afternoon at the Yosemite Valley Lodge or Curry Village; both centrally located in Yosemite Valley. You can choose to quickly stash your luggage at the front desk and meander around the valley, or grab a map and plot your route for the day. Your guides will be sure to give you a run-down on your options for activities and where to get the best eats.
7:00am – 3:30pm: Now is your time to shine! Want to hike or bike around? You’ll have options to meander or bike down paved paths, hike the trails, engage further with the park’s history at the visitor center, or visit the Ansel Adams Gallery. Make sure to keep an eye on the time to make your way to stop 7 for the 3:30 departure back to San Francisco.
3:30pm: Now is the time to kick back and enjoy the ride back West through the mountains, orchards, and fields towards the city. Enjoy the skyline of San Francisco at night as we cross the Bay Bridge and return you to your lodging.
