Day 1 - Anchorage to Denali National Park

Our journey starts with a scenic drive north to our first destination: the awe-inspiring Denali National Park and the charming town of Talkeetna. Nestled at the confluence of three rivers, Talkeetna is a picturesque town known for its rich history and stunning views of Denali, North America’s highest peak. As we arrive in Talkeetna, you’ll have the opportunity to explore its historic downtown, filled with rustic buildings dating back to the early 1900s. This quaint town offers a delightful mix of local art galleries, unique shops, and cozy cafes where you can soak in the small-town charm. The real highlight, however, is the unobstructed view of the towering Denali on a clear day, a sight that captures the spirit of Alaska.

After immersing ourselves in the charm of Talkeetna, we’ll continue our journey to Denali National Park. Covering over six million acres of untouched wilderness, Denali National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Our first experience in the park is an exhilarating dog sled demonstration. This unique activity allows you to witness firsthand the skill and endurance of sled dogs, a vital part of Alaskan culture and history. You’ll learn about the art of mushing and the significance of dog sledding in the exploration and settlement of Alaska, making for an exciting and educational experience.

Day 2 - Denali National Park

On the second day, we’ll dive deeper into Denali’s pristine wilderness. In Denali, the vast landscapes are a feast for the eyes, ranging from dense forests to expansive tundra, all dominated by the majestic peak of Denali. The park is home to an array of wildlife, including grizzly bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. As we delve into this incredible environment, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty and grandeur of Alaska’s natural world.

Our day begins with a hike to Horseshoe Lake, a serene spot that offers picturesque reflections of the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, we’ll tackle the more challenging hike to Mt. Healy Overlook, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the park. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, there is the option to take a scenic park bus tour, providing a comprehensive overview of Denali’s diverse ecosystems and wildlife.

Day 3 - Denali National Park to Seward

After our exhilarating experiences in Denali National Park and the charming town of Talkeetna, we will journey south to the coastal town of Seward, a gateway to some of Alaska’s most stunning marine environments.

As we travel to Seward on the third day, we’ll stop for a hike to the stunning Byron Glacier. This relatively easy hike offers a close-up view of the glacier’s icy blue formations and the surrounding rugged terrain. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive in Seward, a charming coastal town that serves as the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park.

In Seward, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the town’s vibrant waterfront, visit the Alaska SeaLife Center, and enjoy the local cuisine.

This leg of our tour, encompassing Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park, offers a perfect blend of marine wildlife encounters, stunning coastal landscapes, and educational insights into Alaska’s glacial environments. As we journey through these remarkable destinations, you’ll be captivated by the beauty and diversity of Alaska’s natural world.

Day 4 - Seward

Our adventure in Seward begins with an unforgettable wildlife cruise through Resurrection Bay. Known for its rich marine life and dramatic landscapes, Resurrection Bay offers a unique perspective on Alaska’s coastal beauty. As you embark on this journey, you’ll be surrounded by towering glaciers, rugged coastlines, and the serene waters of Resurrection Bay.

This cruise is designed to provide both education and adventure, with knowledgeable guides sharing insights about the local ecosystem and wildlife. You’ll have the chance to see a variety of marine animals, including sea otters, harbor seals, and Steller sea lions. Keep an eye out for the majestic humpback and orca whales that frequent these waters. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by sightings of puffins, bald eagles, and other seabirds. The cruise also offers breathtaking views of the fjords and the opportunity to learn about the geological history of the region. Whether you’re an avid wildlife lover or simply looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Alaska, this wildlife cruise promises a memorable and enriching experience.

Day 5 - Seward

Continuing our exploration of Seward, we’ll venture into Kenai Fjords National Park, a breathtaking expanse of coastal fjords and glaciers. One of the highlights of this park is the magnificent Exit Glacier, which we will hike to today. This hike offers an up-close view of the glacier’s icy expanse, providing a tangible connection to the powerful forces of nature that shape the Alaskan landscape. As you stand at the edge of the glacier, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the dynamic processes of glacial formation and retreat, as well as the environmental changes affecting this region.

Additionally, there is an option to kayak in Resurrection Bay to secluded coves and waterfalls, offering a unique perspective of the stunning coastal environment. Paddling through the serene waters, you’ll have the opportunity to see marine wildlife and pristine landscapes up close.

As our time together draws to a close, we’ll gather for a heartfelt farewell, sharing memories and highlights from our adventure. This tour, filled with thrilling activities, awe-inspiring natural beauty, and meaningful connections, promises to leave you with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for the wonders of Alaska.
