Meet Jo, Our Incredible Guide

Jo Javaluyas

Guide

Driven by a lifelong curiosity, Jo started traveling solo through Europe and Central America at a young age. She formalized her global interest by studying Global Studies and Physical Geography at Sonoma State University, an education that included studies in China and India.

Jo’s commitment to immersive experiences led her to manage a jungle resort in Mexico and a high-country camp in Yosemite. She is an experienced guide, leading tours across diverse regions, including wildlife excursions in Alaska, volcano and cultural tours in Hawaii and the Philippines, and expeditions throughout Yosemite and Northern California.

Before dedicating herself to guiding full-time, Jo spent over a decade working in the wine industry while based in Northern California. In this role, she led biodynamic farm tours and tastings across Napa and Sonoma and managed winery e-commerce projects.

“Travel is not a reward for working. It’s education for living.” — Anthony Bourdain.
