Navigating New Horizons: Understanding the National Park Nonresident Fee for 2026

At Incredible Adventures, we’ve spent over 30 years sharing the majesty of America’s wild spaces with travelers from every corner of the globe. From the granite spires of Yosemite to the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone, our mission has always been to provide sustainable, awe-inspiring experiences while protecting the lands we love.

As we look toward the 2026 travel season, there are some significant changes coming to how international visitors access our National Parks. To ensure your next “Incredible Adventure” is as seamless as possible, we’ve put together a guide to the new Nonresident Fees.

What is the New Nonresident Fee?

Following a federal directive to improve park infrastructure and enhance visitor experiences, the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture have introduced a specific fee for international visitors.

Beginning in 2026, non-U.S. residents aged 16 and older will be required to pay a $100 fee per person when visiting 11 of the most popular National Parks. These funds are specifically earmarked to maintain trails, improve access, and preserve the natural beauty of these iconic locations.

Which Parks are Affected?

The fee applies to the “Big 11” most-visited parks:

  • West Coast: Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon
  • The Rockies & Desert Southwest: Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, Rocky Mountain
  • East Coast & South: Acadia, Everglades

How This Affects Your Commercial Tour

If you are joining us on one of our small-group adventures or a custom private itinerary, here is what you need to know:

  • It Applies to Tours: The fee is mandatory for all non-U.S. residents, whether you are entering the park in a private vehicle or as part of a professional tour group like ours.
  • Proof of Residency: U.S. residents will need to show proof of residency (such as a U.S. Passport, State ID/Driver’s License, or Green Card) to bypass this specific fee.

The “America the Beautiful” Non-Resident Annual Pass

For travelers planning to visit multiple parks, there is a cost-effective solution!

Starting January 1, 2026, a new Non-Resident Annual Pass will be available for $250.

Why consider the pass?

  1. Value: If you plan on visiting three or more of the “Big 11” parks, the pass pays for itself.
  2. Group Savings: One pass covers the cardholder plus three additional adults (aged 16+) in their party—even when traveling on a commercial tour.
  3. Simplicity: It streamlines the entry process, leaving more time for wildlife viewing and hiking.
