This is the perfect escape for those who want to take in all the beauty of Yosemite Valley, from hiking through the natural wilderness to curling up by the giant fireplace of the Majestic Hotel, while also enjoying the comforts of a cozy hotel experience centrally-located inside the National Park – giving you more time to wake up and explore right outside your front door!

Our independent hotel trip takes the stress out of transportation to the park. You’ll be transported from San Francisco to Yosemite in a biofueled mini-coach, while your guide narrates the history of California Gold Country and all the sights coming into Yosemite National Park. Your guide will stop at iconic spots along the way so you can take pictures at Tunnel View and take in the breathtaking spectacles of Half Dome, El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, and more. Upon arrival in the valley, you will be dropped off near the hotel of your choosing, and you’ll be free to explore the park on your own. Wander over to the Majestic lobby for storytelling by the fire, or grab a romantic dinner. Walk past El Capitan at night to see the rock climbers with their headlamps lit up like fireflies! Be sure to check in with your guide about some of the highlights you should look out for and hikes you can take with your time in the park.

The next day, you’ll have all morning and into the afternoon to explore Yosemite Valley in all its glory before heading back from Yosemite to San Francisco.

Want to stay longer?

If two days in Yosemite is not long enough for you, we can accommodate by adding additional nights to your hotel stay. Just call into our front office at 1.800.777.8464, and we will be sure to create the vacation package that works best for you.

6:00 – 7:00am: Make your way to your assigned pickup location to meet your guide. Please read our FAQ for details.

7:00 – 11:30am: Cross the Bay Bridge and see Alcatraz and Angel Island. Travel through Oakland and the East Bay, then on to the Central Valley. There will be a quick stop at a local fruit stand to pick up some fresh produce and an opportunity to buy lunch in advance (not included). Travel through the Gold Country and Sierra Foothills.

11:00am – 12:30pm: Enjoy a narrated, guided tour through Yosemite’s glaciated valley with its famous waterfalls and rock formations from the comfort of the mini-coach (with a few photo-stops) as you descend into Yosemite Valley, and learn some history about this amazing park. From these higher elevations, you can see El Capitan, Half Dome, and many of the waterfalls all at once!

12:30pm: Stop for the afternoon at your accommodations at the Majestic Hotel, Yosemite Valley Lodge or Half Dome Village; all are conveniently located IN Yosemite Valley. Check in, or just store your luggage at the front desk. Maps and guides in hand, you’ll get a chance to explore Yosemite’s natural wonders on your own for the remainder of the day. Before exiting the vehicle, your guide will provide a choice of activities and other food recommendations.

7:00am – 3:30pm: Hang out in Yosemite all day! Just be ready to meet your group back at Stop 7 at 3:30pm for the journey back home.

3:30pm: Head back West through the mountains, orchards, and fields towards the city. Enjoy the skyline of San Francisco at night as we cross the Bay Bridge and return you to your lodging.

**Sample Itineraries: Please note that due to rapidly-changing conditions (weather, crowds, traffic) in Yosemite Park and the small size of our vehicles/groups, we’re able to allow our guides the flexibility to tailor your itinerary to best suit the needs of the group. While we guarantee that we’ll do our best to provide you with all of the highlights within this itinerary (conditions permitting), we do not guarantee them in this specific order. *
