Silicon Valley Tech Tour plus Alcatraz Night Tour from SF

Why We Love this Tour

“I didn’t realize how much I already knew about computers until I went to the Computer History Museum. It’s full of so many treasures and it’s fairly interactive considering how many visitors they have. The highlight – aside from getting the Facebook sign selfie – was meeting the creators of the 1st video game and sitting in the driverless Google car. Definitely worth the trip!”

Silicon Valley + Alcatraz Night Tour

Visit iconic Alcatraz Island and experience this history and future of tech – where it all began, Silicon Valley.

About Your Silicon Valley Tour

Home to countless legendary inventions, businesses born from crowded co-working spaces and behind garage doors,  Silicon Valley offers an intriguing narrative full of double-crossings and rags-to-riches stories.

This tour will take you through the origin stories of Apple, Google, IBM, and many previously unrecognized technologists that paved the way for the advent of the hardware we carry with us and use every day.

First, we’ll stop to ‘check-in’ at the Facebook Thumbs Up Sign on Hacker Way. Of course we couldn’t forget a visit to the famous Google Campus too. With cameras ready, we’ll stop in the colorful Android lawn statues – stylized like candy almost convincing enough to eat. You’ll be able to explore the gift shop and grab authentic Google tech and swag too.*

A highlight for many, we’ll next make an extended stop at the one-of-a-kind Computer History Museum (requires proof of vaccination for everyone 6 years of age and older) . Taking you through the evolution of computing, from the abacus to the complexities of artificial intelligence and self-driving vehicles, you’ll feel like a tech history pro after your visit.  We’ll also explore the multi-tiered, newly constructed Apple Visitor’s Center which is also a fully-stocked Apple Store before returning to San Francisco.

About Your Alcatraz Tour

Alcatraz is a must-see for any traveler visiting San Francisco.

You’ll take the ferry out to the island, with amazing views of the San Francisco skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, and Angel Island.

Upon arrival, you’ll learn a brief history of “The Rock” and then head up to the prison. You’ll be equipped with an audio tour titled “Doing Time”, in which you’ll hear interviews from former inmates and learn more history about Alcatraz.

The tour generally takes people 2 – 3 hours. Don’t forget your jacket – it can get chilly out on the bay!

For security purposes, a government-issued photo ID is required for all guests to board the Alcatraz ferry

Alcatraz audio tour is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Mandarin, Portuguese and Korean

Alcatraz tickets are subject to limited availability, so book your tickets today!

Make your way to Pier 33 in Fisherman’s Wharf to pick up your Alcatraz tickets from the Group Services Window and meet the ferry. You may pick up your tickets any time the day of your tour, but they MUST be claimed no later than 30 minutes prior to the tour departure. You will need a valid ID and your paid voucher to pick up the tickets.

On Alcatraz Island

Enjoy the audio tour “Doing Time” with commentary from inmates and guards that experienced the prison when it was operational. You’ll have access to areas of the island that are not open to the public on the day tours.
