Meet Rebecca, Our Incredible Guide

Rebecca Gormley

Guide

Rebecca will be honest: she didn’t grow up loving the wilderness. Sure, she lived in objectively beautiful places like the U.K. and Switzerland, but in fact, she did everything she could to avoid hiking when she was young. That all began to change after she graduated from university with degrees in Psychology, American Sign Language, and Japanese, and no earthly idea of what to do with them.

A few years later, Rebecca decided to take a bit of a risk and boarded a 120-foot traditional wooden schooner to work as a deckhand and educator. After living aboard for 10 months, teaching hundreds of kids, and sailing thousands of miles, she had truly fallen in love with living and working outside—finally! Since then, Rebecca has focused both her professional and personal life around outdoor adventures, trying to make up for lost time. Although she feels very at home on the ocean after several years on and off sailboats and in and out of kayaks, and although her 9-year-old self can’t believe it, hiking now holds a very special place in her heart as well. Whatever your definition of “exploration” might be, Rebecca truly looks forward to adventuring with you!
