IPW. A time when the entire travel industry has the opportunity to do what they do best – travel! People from all over the world, from production to sales of all things tourism come together to talk business and be inspired by the plethora of opportunities to work together. IA arrived four team members strong to IPW 2015 in Orlando, Florida – two “buyers” looking for new activities and experiences to add to our website and two “suppliers” representing our Incredible Adventures tours to Travel Companies and agents. While our marketing team held down the booth taking on at least 50 appointments, our President and GM owned the floor with full schedules of their own. All in all, our organization met with over 100 companies! Some slots were filled with old industry friends, allowing time to catch up and resolve any issues we may have run into in the last year. Others were set aside for potential clients which we hope develop into long-lasting and very profitable relationships. With partners all over the world, sometimes this is the only opportunity we have to meet our contacts in person! This was also an opportunity for us to connect with delegates from associations like Brand USA, Visit California, and the National Parks Service to discuss the industry as a whole and our place within it. With so many great minds all in one place, this show is a great chance to affect real change within the industry, and be a part of something much bigger than just Incredible Adventures’ tours. The whole thing was a lot like professional speed dating. Business cards were exchanged, brochures were expounded upon, and wine was poured. Each 20 minute round ended with the ring of a bell systematically sending buyers on their way. And so it was – for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT. While work was the main focus, IPW 2015 pulled out all of the stops come nightfall to show the travel industry what Orlando has to offer! Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios were all shut down for special evening events exclusive to tradeshow-goers. There we had the opportunity to network and mingle (and ride a lot of rollercoasters!). We were provided delicious local food and drinks, and experienced special performances and displays of Orlando’s finest talent. Thank you, Orlando! With little time to relax in the Florida sun (although we will confess to a few laps around the Lazy River), our team came back more informed, more connected, and a lot more exhausted! Another successful IPW in the books for IA! Until next year in New Orleans – we’re ready for you Bourbon Street!
