Camping
Camping is easy, but cooperation is important. Don't worry if you've never
camped before, many people haven't. We supply all the camping equipment
necessary, using quality tents, camping and cooking
equipment. Everybody is expected to participate in the camping experience,
including cooking and cleaning. Campground facilities
include running water and hot showers. Some of our destinations have access to swimming pools
and a jacuzzi.
Food
We provide the food, but not the chefs. You guys are the cooks, waiters,
dishwashers, and, of course, the guests. On the first day of a trip, we stop at a supermarket
to buy everything we need. The fare is all-you-can-eat and very tasty, and is a mixture of chicken, beef and vegetarian. Most people eat better with us than on the rest of their travels (Food is included in the price of the Yosemite Escape Tours. For the longer duration tours everyone will be expected to contribute to the Food Kitty which will be used to purchase food on the road.
Transportation
We use 15-passenger vans with air conditioning and stereo for a comfortable
ride. We power our vehicles with Biodiesel
alternative fuel to help preserve the areas we visit. The vans are outfitted
with trailers to accommodate your luggage and the camping equipment.
Sleeping Bags
For our camping tours you will need a sleeping bag. We have sleeping bags available for rent at a cost of $30 per person for the tour.
What to Bring
You will need sneakers or hiking boots, shorts, t-shirts,
swimwear, sun protection, a water bottle, a flashlight, and some warmer clothes
in case there is a change in weather.
