Can't Be Beat

Fun, interesting and cool, The Beats in San Francisco was a highlight of my recent visit to San Francisco. My teenage daughters, 70-year old mother and I all enjoyed the 2 hour walking tour of the North Beach neighborhood (and a little Chinatown too.) Our guide, Ryan Russo, was smart, friendly and overflowing with enthusiasm. He shared lots of good history and anecdotes about this very special moment in time. We've taken a lot of walking tours and The Beats in SF was one of the best. Great for first-time visitors or locals. PS the tour begins and ends at the Beat Museum which is great too!

Wonderful Tour of Beat Generation and Culture

My wife and I went on Ryan's tour and had an absolutely wonderful time. Ryan is a fantastic tour guide with an articulate and detailed knowledge of the landmarks of SF beat culture. He supplemented his lecture with vintage pictures of the landmarks and incisive quotations from Beat poet diaries referring to the locations as we stood in front of them. He is also a well-educated, smart, and really nice guy. The tour was a highlight of a fantastic trip to San Francisco and a very memorable experience for anyone interested in this fascinating era in American cultural history.

North Beach Walking Tour

I went on the Beat Poets tour in North Beach in conjunction with the Beat Museum. I love history and I love SF, it was awesome to see the two blended in such a unique and entertaining way. Ryan, our guide, was both knowledgeable and personable, you could tell how much he cared about the subject. Along the way, numerous people stopped to say hi to him and he casually recommended restaurants and bars; it was clear that Ryan knew the city well. Highly recommend!
