Book your tickets today!
Though we cannot sell them alone, Alcatraz Island Tour tickets are available during the booking process of many of our tours!
How to book: Simply choose your tickets as an add-on during your tour reservation.
After clicking BOOK NOW on our your tour of choice, your Shopping Cart will pop up. Below your tour, you will see all of your Alactraz ticketing options and other suggested add-ons. Choose your desired types and amounts of tickets (each ticket must correspond with a seat on the tour), and then click “Checkout” and proceed with your booking. It’s as easy as that!
Then, tell us when: Our system’s default is to order tickets for the day AFTER your Incredible Adventures tour, but you can go see Alcatraz first, or any time you want during your stay in San Francisco!
Please make sure to write your date & time request in the “notes” section of your booking, and a member of our sales team will be in touch to clarify available cruise times and confirm your tickets.
You will need to print out your voucher to claim your tickets at the Alcatraz Cruises pier and present it (and your photo ID) to plaim your tickets and join the tour.
NOTE: ANY BOOKING SUBMITTED FOR TICKETS WITHOUT ANOTHER TOUR WILL NOT BE HONORED. Alcatraz tickets are ONLY available as a package and cannot be booked separately.
Day Cruise departure times are approximately every 30 minutes between:
- Mar 11-Oct 21: 8:45am-3:50pm Daily
– Oct 22-Mar 10: 8:45am-1:55pm Daily
Night Tours: Alcatraz Island and the San Francisco Bay are amazing at night! However, because of the limited departure times and high demand, these tickets are tough to get. Make sure you reserve your night tour tickets FAR in advance of your trip to San Francisco to guarantee your spot.
Night Tour departure times are as follows:
- Mar 11-Oct 21: 5:55pm & 6:30pm Daily (8:45pm & 9:30pm return)
– Oct 22-Mar 10: 4:20pm Daily (7:10pm return)
NOTE: Website promotions and additional discounts DO NOT apply to Alcatraz tours. Alcatraz tickets subject to availability. Alcatraz is the number one tourist activity in San Francisco and sells out regularly during the summer season. A $7.50 handling fee will be added to all Alcatraz tickets at checkout.

- Warm coat or windbreaker (it can be VERY windy on the bay!)
- Comfortable soft-soled shoes
- Sunglasses, hat, sun protection (the glare from the water can cause sunburns even in foggy weather)
Frequently Asked Questions
What languages is the Audio Tour offered in?
The Cellhouse Audio Tour is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Mandarin, Portuguese and Korean.
What makes the Hornblower Hybrid “green”?
As the nation’s first hybrid ferry, the eco friendly vessel is powered largely by solar panels, wind turbines, and grid electricity. Carpet, countertops, and fixtures incorporate recycled and sustainable materials.
Will I get seasick?
Probably not. The ferry is large and stable enough that most people are not affected. If you are very susceptible, you may want to get a patch or seasick pills.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably and be sure to bring extra layers, the bay can be very windy!
How far in advance should I book?
We strongly recommend you purchase tickets in advance as cruises often sell out quickly. In the mid-summertime, tours are sometimes sold out months in advance. Don’t get stuck without tickets!
